Wimbledon 2018 – Tennis Predictions for today

tennis tips for today

The Wimbledon 2018 Championship begins on Monday 2nd July and will last until Sunday 15th July. We will cover it with free tennis predictions. Looking for tennis tips for today?

Both Wimbledon Men’s and Women’s events look open for a grab this year.

Tennis predictions were never an easy task and neither they are for The Championships of Wimbledon 2018.

We have also made it clear before that tennis is not our strongest sport to bet on. However…

Using our staking strategy with increasing amounts when losing and decreasing when winning, we have managed to actually make a profit on the previous big tennis tournaments. We will use it again at Wimbledon 2018.

Just to confirm that too, we are not alone in this grand slam.

It might sound a bit cheeky we have not introduced you yet to our… secret tennis tipster, but he prefers to stay anonymous. He is not hiding from publicity, neither is a well-known tennis player. However, he has been a tennis player with great knowledge of the sport for years, has a tennis coaching diploma and has been consistent with his tennis tips so far.

How do we decide on our Tennis Tips

Firstly, we receive the tennis predictions and read other famous tennis tipsters’ opinions.

Secondly, we examine the odds and check if they are a good match to our way of wagering.

Tennis tips for today could be different than tomorrow ones.

  • If we come from a winning bet then we decrease our stake.
  • If we come from a losing bet then we increase our stake. However, the odds in tennis usually give us the opportunity to keep the stakes low. This is because a winning bet of higher odds can cover the losses of previous bets without increasing the stake.

ie. We bet on Nadal at odds of 1.90 to win vs Djokovic. Say we bet 10 units (any currency, £, $. €, whatever).
But Nadal loses.
Then say our next bet is Federer to win 3-0 vs Cilic. If the odds are 2.50 or more, then by placing the same bet (10 units) we will have covered he losses from the previous bet and make some profit too. 2.50 x 10 = 25 and 25 – 20 (which is our total bets so far) = +5.

Lucky for you, we suggest a stake along our tennis tips to help you with your selections.

Australian Open Men seeds

Tennis lags behind other sports in the data. This statement lists the reasons why it’s so difficult to get there with uniform statistics. If predictive analytics is a challenge in normal times, imagine how difficult it is now. If we fail to get a reliable number of error winners, what hope do we hope to acquire more meaningful metrics like “record matches after spending 14 days in a strict quarantine Hyatt single-chamber” or “mentality in the midst of a global pandemic”?

All this means that the downside of a tennis tournament — a fool race, if it’s fun and expected — is always a busy exercise. Before the 2021 Australian Open, it is particularly knotted. But your fearless correspondent persists. Considering that “it is difficult to make predictions. Especially about the future”, we attach the reports of men seeds for the 2021 Australian Open, an event that we expect a lot of surprises.

1. Novak Djokovic

The defending champion. The Australian Open champion 8 times over. The likely champion in 2021.

2. Rafael Nadal

Nadal has won the A.O. only once (2009) and a lower back injury caused him to miss a match at the ATP Cup, which is worrying. But Nadal is… Nadal, and is unrivaled when it comes to fighting and is also the winner of the previous major.

3. Dominic Thiem

A Melbourne finalist in 2020. He did not perform in the ATP Cup, including a straight set loss to Berrettini. And he’s on the… Djokovic-half of the draw. Coach Nicolás Massú will not be there, as he tested positive for COVID-19.

4. Daniil Medvedev

Winner of the ATP World Tour Finals will try to bring some momentum from London. Reached the fourth round in Melbourne two years running he has the confidence to go further in the 2021 tournament.

5. Stefanos Tsitsipas

Tennis’s seeker is looking for the next step in his ascent: a major final. The game is there but you can never be sure if he has the mindset to win a massive one.

6. Alexander Zverev

COVID-19 hit multiple family members, an ex-girlfriend announced she is pregnant with his child while another accused him of domestic violence…He also changed agents other than girlfriends. Hard to say if he has the strength to overlook everything and succeed in the tournament.

7. Andrey Rublev

Coming off a stellar 2020 that saw him win 5 titles and more than 40 matches (crazy considerting the abbreviated schedule.). Time to get beyond the quarters of a major, or not?

8. Diego Schwartzman

Coming off a strange fall: a defeat of Nadal in Rome and a semifinal appearance in Paris. Hard to imagine a player, of his calibre actually winning a major in 2021. However, thers is so much to admire here that it’s easy to see him go far in the competition..

9. Matteo Berrettini

Scored the first top-three win of his career last week over Thiem. He had a quiet 2020, even given the circumstances, winning just 9 times. But looks in form.

10. Gael Monfils

Monf plays his 16th Australian Open. Damn it. They’re growing up, these artists. I was only in the rooms in Australia once. It was 0-4 in the fall and, as much as we all love the guy, we wonder if the show, desperately, is coming to an end.

11. Denis Shapovalov

A massive download of talent and is still 21 years old. But the living room is getting a little impatient. Great pushing opponents to 5-5. Significantly smaller in closing sets and matches. The first two games in 2021: lost one ATP Cup match against Djokovic 7-5, 7-5 and another against Zverev 7-6 in the third.

12. Roberto Bautista Agut

Freed from captivity, he ought to and losing to the dozen or so ahead of him.

13. David Goffin

After a disappointment of an French Open (first round defeat at Sinner) then a 6-3, 6-3 defeat last week against Carlos Alcaraz, 17. You are wondering if the tires do not start to lose the tread.

14. Milos Raonic

Former semifinalist (and almost finalist) is always a danger, especially with that serve he’s got and especially on this surface.

15. Pablo Carreno Busta

Fourth round marks his best showing Down Under.

16. Fabio Fognini

Big Fo on the descent. He left a fourth round show last year, but only 13-13 in his career in Melbourne. (In fact, it will be his 49th Major and only passed the fourth round once, quite remarkable for a guy who spent so much time in the top 20.) It’s always good for a show. It’s rarely good for a deep run.

Honored mention

17. Stan Wawrinka

The last of the four seeds, only four, is remarkable… women are digital duplicate… who have already earned a specialization. Wawrinka can be closer to 40 than 30. But he’s a former champion, fit, and always dangerous.

18. Grigor Dimitrov

The best days may be behind him, but a former semi-finalist and, at the 2019 US Open, beat a Big Three (Federer) member in a hardcourt grand slam.
