CSKA Moscow – AX Milano

Kyle Hines makes his return to the Russian capital when CSKA Moscow hosts AX Armani Exchange Milan. CSKA (18-9) comes off its biggest loss in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, 100-70 against Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Mike James (19.4 ppg.), Will Clyburn (13.3 ppg.) and Toko Shengelia (10.7 ppg.) have been its pillars this season. Milan (18-10) looks for its second consecutive road win, led by Kevin Punter (14.3 ppg.), Shevon Shields (13.6 ppg.) and Sergio Rodriguez (10.5 ppg., 4.3 apg.). Expect an intense game between two foes in the upper part of the standings.

Without Milutinov, it will be a completely different game and CSKA must focus on Milan’s strengths to get a critical victory. On defense, CSKA needs to stop Rodriguez in his return to Moscow. Milan is without injured Malcolm Delaney, so Punter and Rodriguez will share point guard duties. James must put pressure on them and run the show on offense, creating shots in one-on-one opportunities, but also finding Clyburn, Shengelia and Iffe Lundberg to make CSKA more unpredictable.

  • Nikola Milutinov could miss the rest of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery.

It will be a special night for Kyle Hines, who returns to Moscow for the first time after seven successful seasons with CSKA. Hines has the tough mission to stop Michael Eric and Joel Bolomboy down low. Other than doing a much better job at rebounding that in its last game against CSKA, Milan should running its offense through Punter and Shields, who have been strong in recent games. On defense, stopping James should be critical and head coach Ettore Messina can rely on Punter and Michael Roll to do so.

  • Zach LeDay has missed the last five games with an injury.
  • Malcolm Delaney has missed the last two games and is set to be sidelined for at least four weeks after undergoing an arthroscopic cleaning of his left knee.

basketball prediction Tip: 1 (-4.5) at 1.90 with bet365
( Euroleague predictions with correct price at 11/03/2021, 10:25 CET. Odds subject to change )

Panathinaikos – Maccabi

Panathinaikos OPAP Athens (9-17) is on a three-game losing streak and hopes to break it against one of its traditional sports rivals and its coach’s boyhood club. Mario Hezonja (17.5 ppg.), Ioannis Papapetrou (12.1 ppg.) and Georgios Papagiannis (9.3 ppg., 5.6 rpg., 1.8 bpg.) are leading the Greens right now. Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv (11-15) hopes to snap its three-game road losing streak led by Scottie Wilbekin (14.5 ppg.), Tyler Dorsey (11.3 ppg.) and Elijah Bryant (10.1 ppg.). It will be a special game for Coach Oded Kattash, who grew up with Maccabi, but led Panathinaikos to the 2000 EuroLeague title by beating the Israeli champs in the championship game.

Ioannis Papapetrou is back, which allows Panathinaikos to play with a big lineup, using him and Hezonja on the wings. Panathinaikos must make the most out of that size advantage and stay aggressive on offense; the Greens rank second in offensive rebounding at 11.7 per night. On defense, stopping Wilbekin and Dorsey should be a priority and Panathinaikos can rely on two excellent on-the-ball defenders, Lefteris Bochoridis and Leonidas Kaselakis, to do so.

  • Nemanja Nedovic has missed the last four games.

Maccabi ended a four-game losing streak with a win against Valencia Basket in which the Israeli champs did a lot of good things. Maccabi scored 51 points after the break and was effective inside the arc (21-of-35 2FG, 60%). Omri Casspi gave Maccabi a big boost – 14 points in as many minutes – and he could play a key role in this game against Papapetrou. As always, Maccabi must find good scoring options for Ante Zizic and Othello Hunter in the paint to spread the floor for its many shooters.

  • Yovel Zoosman will be out until late March with a knee injury.

Villerbaunne – ALBA Berlin

LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne hosts ALBA Berlin on Thursday night. ASVEL (12-16) comes off consecutive losses after a record six-game winning streak. Norris Cole (13.8 ppg.), David Lighty (11.9 ppg.) and Moustapha Fall (9.4 ppg., 5.5 rpg.) have been its main references throughout the season. ALBA (10-18) looks for its second consecutive road victory. Marcus Eriksson (12.3 ppg.), Simone Fontecchio (10.6 ppg.) and Ben Lammers (10.1 ppg., 1.2 bpg.) are leading the team in recent games.

ASVEL ranks fifth in three-point shooting (40.0% 3FG) and that should be one of its main weapons in this game against a run-and-gun team such as ALBA. On defense, stopping Sikma should be its main priority, as ALBA runs its offense through him due to his passing skills and off-the-charts basketball IQ. Guerschon Yabusele and Amine Noua should play physical against him to try to keep the ball away from Sikma. On offense, Cole should run the show, using his one-on-one and passing skills to make the difference.

  • Derrick Walton has been sidelined for several weeks with a hip injury.
  • Antoine Diot did not play in the last three games.

ALBA had a brilliant offensive performance against Khimki, making 18 of 35 three-pointers and dishing 31 assists. That allowed ALBA to rank second in assists (20.2 apg.) and three-point shots made (10.0 per game). ALBA, however, needs to cut turnovers to be more competitive. The German powerhouse averages 14.7 turnovers, which is second overall, and it is up to its main ballhandlers, Siva, Jonas Mattisseck and Maodo Lo, to make ALBA’s offense more efficient.

  • Jayson Granger is out after having hand surgery.
  • Louis Olinde is sidelined with a hand injury.

basketball prediction Tip: 2 (+5.5) at 1.90 with bet365
( Euroleague predictions with correct price at 11/03/2021, 10:25 CET. Odds subject to change )

Crvena Zvezda – Khimki

The two teams at the tail end of the standings meet when Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade hosts Khimki Moscow Region. Zvezda (7-21) is on an eight-game losing streak which it hopes to end right away. Jordan Loyd (17.0 ppg.), Corey Walden (10.8 ppg.) and Ognjen Dobric (7.9 ppg.) are leading the team. Khimki (3-24) looks for its first road victory since downing Zenit St Petersburg in Round 9. Alexey Shved (19.2 ppg., 8.1 apg.), Jordan Mickey (13.8 ppg., 5.5 rpg.) and Errick McCollum (10.3 ppg.) are Khimki’s main pillars.

Zvezda has been heavily undermanned in recent games, but is expected to bring back some players to its roster in this game. Even so, Loyd should stay as its first option on offense. Zvezda lost three of its last six games by 3 points or less, so being more focused in crunch time should make the team more competitive. On defense, stopping Shved should be a priority and Zvezda can rely on Walden and elite on-the-ball defender Branko Lazic to do so.

  • Duop Reath and Quino Colom have missed the last five games.

Khimki should keep running its frontcourt offense through Mickey, who has been on fire lately, averaging 21.8 points on 44-of-70 two-point shots (62.9%) in his last five games. Finding Mickey down low should be critical, as well as running its backcourt offense through Shved and McCollum. Khimki allows 90.8 points on average, at least 7.1 more points than any other team. Being able to contest more shots should make Khimki more competitive right away.

  • Devin Booker has missed the last seven games.
  • Stefan Jovic has not played in the last six games.
  • Janis Timma has not played in the last three games.

basketball prediction Tip: Winning Margin 3-way Any Other (1-5 points) at 3.00 with bet365
( Euroleague predictions with correct price at 11/03/2021, 10:25 CET. Odds subject to change )

Real Madrid – Barcelona

One of the greatest rivalries in sports will have a new chapter written this week. Real Madrid (17-11) arrives to El Clasico after a critical road victory against Zenit St Petersburg in Round 28. Walter Tavares (11.6 ppg., 8.1 rpg., 1.8 bpg.), Gabriel Deck (7.8 ppg.) and Jaycee Carroll (10.0 ppg.) are leading the team right now. FC Barcelona (20-8) can become the first team to qualify for the playoffs with a win on its rivals’ court. Nikola Mirotic (16.7 ppg., 6.2 rpg.), Cory Higgins (12.9 ppg.) and Brandon Davies (12.0 ppg.) have led Barcelona until now.

Real is not scoring as much as in recent seasons (79.8 ppg.), but has also improved its defense. Real allows 76.8 points on average and keeps opponents to just 51.2% shooting on two-pointers. Tavares and Usman Garuba lead the team on defense and both players should have critical roles against Davies and Mirotic, respectively. On offense, Carlos Alocen and Nico Laprovittola will try to prevent Nick Calathes from dominating the game tempo, which may be one of the biggest keys to this exciting game.

  • Anthony Randolph is out with a ruptured left Achilles tendon.
  • Rudy Fernandez has not played in the last four rounds due to back issues.
  • Sergio Llull is sidelined after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

Barcelona has the best defensive numbers in the competition, allowing just 73.2 points per game and holding opponents to 34.3% shooting from downtown. That should be extremely important against a team full of good shooters like Carroll, Alocen and, if available, Thompkins. Barcelona leads the EuroLeague in turnovers at 15.0 per night. Having a more efficient offense should make Barcelona even more dangerous as it has talented, experienced scorers at all positions.

  • Pau Gasol will not play.

Euroleague Basketball Predictions

The action in the Euroleague regular season continues. We have learnt quite a lot of things about this years contestants after a few exciting games and we can predict with more confidence on european basketball matches today. So, let’s dive straight into our Euroleague picks for today’s games:

Our EuroLeague basketball tips appear under each mini game preview.

Monaco – Bayern Munich

When Monaco (6-3) hosts Bayern Munich (3-6) for Round 10, two teams with different fortunes earlier in the week will clash. Monaco has a spotless 2-0 record versus Bayern so far in their EuroLeague meetings. In Round 9, Fenerbahce defeated Monaco 93-96 despite a significant comeback in the fourth quarter. Monaco’s top scorer and rebounder was Jordan Loyd (18 points). On the other hand, Bayern defeated ASVEL, 74-75, for its third victory of the year, powered by 13 points from Lucic.

Monaco, which had an erratic start to the season, has recently had some ups and downs and will attempt to prevent a double-round home sweep against Bayern. The stats suggest that Monaco takes care of the ball better than any other club, as they lead the league in steals per game (8.8) and lowest turnovers (9.8). Since Bayern performs better from the free-throw line and also knows how to preserve their glass, the hosts will want to prevent a close game. The hosts are performing well overall and boast one of the league’s most lethal backcourts with Loyd, Mike James, and Okobo. They must keep an eye out for Winston and Weiler-Babb in particular.

basketball prediction Tip: Over 156.5 at 1.90

Panathinaikos – Asvel Villeurbanne

Panathinaikos (3-6) meets ASVEL Villeurbanne (3-6), two teams whose respective games on Wednesday ended in dramatic way, prepare for another matchup just 48 hours later.

Derrick Williams shone with 26 points for Panathinaikos in their recent 88-85 overtime victory over Virtus Bologna. Late in the extra period, Williams hit a critical three-pointer to give the Greens a decisive lead. Wolters scored 18 points, Lee had 15, and Panathinaikos hit 13 of them with a 44.8% accuracy rate. In this home game, the Greens seek to maintain their impressive shooting form.

basketball prediction Tip: 1 (-6.5) at 1.90

Barcelona – Baskonia

At Palau Blaugrana, Barcelona (6-3) will welcome Baskonia (5-4) in a rematch of two familiar teams. Laprovittola (15.2 ppg), Sanli (8.9 ppg), and Satoransky, three former Baskonia guards, helped Barca win four of its most recent five games (7.8 ppg.). Following a 20-point victory over Zalgiris at home, Baskonia hopes to maintain its momentum. The leading scorer for Baskonia has been Howard (15.6 ppg), who is followed by Thompson (12.6 ppg) and Kotsar (11.8 ppg.).

Barca averages just 14.6 free throw attempts each game, which is not a lot. Barca has also connected on 36.9% of its downtown shots. Now that Kuric, a talented three-point shooter, is back with the squad, that percentage ought to increase. Kuric provides Barca with yet another tool to deploy against Marinkovic and Giedraitis in the backcourt. To balance its offence, Barca has to locate Tobey and Vesely inside. Vesely and Sanli must be active on defence against Costello, a large player with limitless mobility who has just improved his physical condition.

basketball prediction Tip: Over 161.5 at 1.90

Virtus Bologna – Anadolu Efes

In a sold-out arena, Virtus Bologna (4-5) will welcome the two-time defending champions Anadolu Efes (4-5) in an effort to defend its home court. The champions of the previous season’s EuroCup and EuroLeague square off, with Virtus and Efes meeting for the first time in a competitive match in more than 20 years.

Regarding the outcomes of their earlier games this week, the two sides enter this match in diametrically opposed moods. After suffering a heartbreaking 88-85 overtime loss to Panathinaikos on Wednesday, Virtus returns home. Early in the game, Virtus had a substantial lead and needed to come back to force OT. Prior to losing, it led for the majority of the extra session again. Last year’s EuroCup MVP Jaiteh shone with a career-high 20 points and 10 rebounds.

basketball prediction Tip: 1 (+2.5) at 1.90

Valencia – Zalgiris

When Zalgiris Kaunas (5-4) visits Valencia (4-5), both clubs will be looking to complete this double-round with at least one victory. This is the tenth meeting between these two clubs in the EuroLeague, with Valencia holding a 6-3 advantage overall. Despite Van Rossom’s 17 points and 3 assists on Tuesday, Valencia lost to Real Madrid 73-80 at home. Despite Ulanovas scoring 18 points, Zalgiris lost to Baskonia by a score of 93-73 on Wednesday.

In most statistics, both teams’ numbers appear to be very close on paper. For instance, Valencia scores 0.3 more points per game than the next team. The average PIR difference is also in Zalgiris’ favour. In terms of shooting accuracy across the board, Zalgiris outperforms Valencia, while Valencia does better in terms of assists, steals, and turnovers. One of these two teams will be able to successfully complete the double-round week on Friday night, so it appears that everything will come down to the little things.

basketball prediction Tip: Winning Margin 3-way Any Other Result (1-5 points difference) at 2.60

(All prices correct at 23/11/2022, 18:35 CET, subject to change)

Euroleague Basketball Predictions

The action in the Euroleague regular season continues. We have learnt quite a lot of things about this years contestants after a few exciting games and we can predict with more confidence on european basketball matches today. So, let’s dive straight into our Euroleague picks for today’s games:

Our EuroLeague basketball tips appear under each mini game preview.

Panathinaikos – Virtus Bologna

On Wednesday night, Panathinaikos (2-6) will host Virtus Bologna (4-4) at the OAKA Stadium in Athens. The Greens have won just one of their past six matches, while Virtus has won three of its last four.

With its summer recruits still gelling on the court, Panathinaikos and first-year head coach Dejan Radonjic’s season has not started as they had hoped. There have been hints of a spark, such as Dwayne Bacon’s 20-point performance in Round 8, but after losing 107-77 on the road to Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, Panathinaikos needs to respond quickly. If the Greens want to send Virtus home dissatisfied, they’ll need to improve on their second-to-last defensive record on their home court, where they defeated Baskonia 98-83 in Round 7 to snap a four-game losing streak.

basketball prediction Tip: Over 156.5 at 1.90

Asvel Villeurbanne – Bayern Munich

At the Astroballe, two teams that have recently lost face off. Round 9 features an intriguing matchup between Bayern Munich and ASVEL Villeurbanne (3-5). (2-6). In front of its supporters, ASVEL will attempt to bounce back after dropping its last two games. After a 0-5 start, Bayern won three straight matches before falling to Olympiacos Piraeus at home in Round 8. As of last season, Bayern has a 4-2 record against ASVEL in EuroLeague games. Augustine Rubit scored 17 points to help Bayern win both of their meetings in those games, 73-65 in Munich and 68-77 on the road.

Finding a second scorer in the paint to support Youssoupha Fall in the low post is a challenge for ASVEL. Although ASVEL is making less than half of their two-point attempts (48.8%), Fall has been successful (65.6% 2FG). The home team’s perimeter players, Nando De Colo (47.5% 2FG, David Lighty 47.5%, and Charles Kahudi 45.5%), David Lighty, and Charles Kahudi, must be more productive for ASVEL’s attack to be less predictable and give Fall an even better chance to continue converting easy baskets close to the hoop.

basketball prediction Tip: Winning Margin 3-way Any Other Result (1-5 points difference) at 2.60

Baskonia – Zalgiris

In what has been a meeting of two of the EuroLeague’s surprise teams so far this season, Baskonia (4-4) welcomes Zalgiris (5-3) at Buesa Arena in Vitoria.

With a quick 3-0 start with several first-year players showcasing their skills, including Howard, Thompson, and Kotsar, Baskonia emerged as the side to watch in the early stages of the season. The club has since lost four straight games, with its lone triumph coming against Maccabi in a rout at home. On its home court, where it is 3-1, Baskonia will once again be able to rely on its constant home support. Baskonia lost 79-74 on the road against Monaco.

Monaco – Fenerbahce

Round 9 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague begins with Monaco hosting Fenerbahce and features two of the best teams. With a 6-2 record, Monaco is tied for second place in the standings, while Fenerbahce has the best record in the league at 7-1. The squad from the principality has won all three of its home games this year without losing, and Fenerbahce is 2-1 away from home with its lone setback coming in Round 6 at Barcelona.

Monaco’s backcourt, with Mike James (18.8 ppg), Okobo (13.2 ppg), and Loyd (12.4 ppg), has been its strongest point. The team under coach Sasa Obradovic also ranks first in turnovers (8.9 per game) and thefts (8.9 per game) (9.8 per game). Monaco’s 31.5% three-point shooting ranks last in the league, so there is opportunity for improvement there. Monaco has been outrebounded by 3.3 rebounds per game this season despite having five players who average at least 3 rebounds per game. The better the team does on the glass versus Fenerbahce, the better its prospects are.

Fenerbahce is not only second in scoring (86.4 ppg), two-point shooting percentage (58.9%), and three-point shooting percentage (39.8%) in the league this season, but also boasts the league’s best defence, allowing just 73.6 points per game. The Fenerbahce offensive is led by Motley (15.1 ppg), Wilbekin (13.0 ppg), and Guduric (12.6 ppg), with playmaker Nick Calathes (9.1 ppg, 6.0 apg) in charge. For Coach Itoudis’ team, the balanced attack has been crucial, and Monaco will need to use every bit of its depth to stop the visitors in what should be a thrilling match.

basketball prediction Tip: Winning Margin 3-way Any Other Result (1-5 points difference) at 2.60

Alba Berlin – Crvena Zvezda

In Round 9, newly remodelled Crvena Zvezda (2-6) will travel to ALBA Berlin (3-5) in an attempt to extend its winning streak after picking up its second victory of the year. Due to Nikola Ivanovic’s 16 points and three steals, Zvezda won its first game under new head coach Dusko Ivanovic in Round 8 against ASVEL, 71-67. Despite Procida scoring 13 points, ALBA dropped its fifth straight game at Real Madrid last week after starting 3-0. This will be their ninth meeting in the EuroLeague; in their previous eight meetings with Zvezda, ALBA has only lost once.

ALBA’s perfect start turned into a nightmare after losing its last five games, and it will try to turn things around against a team that was also having trouble up until last week. The hosts continue to rank third in blocks while also ranking first in the league in total assists (22.8) and rebounds (37.4). ALBA excels at many things, but competitors are starting to recognise its game plan. A team that has received a huge morale boost from a win and a coaching change will force the hosts to pay close attention to the little things.

Zvezda has emerged from a downward trend, and now it must capitalise on it. Since ALBA is still averaging about 10 more points per game than this team, which has the second-worst offence (71.3) and the lowest PIR average (72.4) in the league, the team will need to keep improving under Ivanovic. As they currently rank 14th or worse across all ranges, the visitors need to strengthen their defense, act more aggressively, and look for better shooting opportunities. If Zvezda hopes to successfully reverse the trend in Berlin, it will need to pay close attention to people like Jaleen Smith, Luke Sikma, and Christ Koumadje.

basketball prediction Tip: Over 156.5 at 1.90

Macabi – Olympiacos

When Maccabi Tel Aviv plays host to Olympiacos at Menorah Mivtachim Arena, it will want to get back on track. The most recent loss for Maccabi (4-4)—which is 4-1 at home this year—came on Friday against Partizan in Belgrade, Serbia. Olympiacos (6-2) has won its last two games after dropping its previous two. The Reds have won all four of their away games this year, including a 71-82 triumph in Munich last week.

Wade Baldwin (16.0 ppg, 5.0 apg) and Lorenzo Brown (15.5 ppg, 6.4 apg) have been a challenge for opposition guards this season, which has been Maccabi’s strength. Colson, a forward, has also made significant contributions (10.4 ppg).

Olympiacos’ go-to player has been power forward Vezenkov, the league’s leading scorer (20.0 ppg) and leader in PIR (28.2). Kostas Sloukas, a supersub, averages 13.5 points per game and is third in the league in assists (6.6 apg.) and PIR (19.0).

Maccabi and Olympiacos games have historically been dominated by the home teams. Although the margins of victory in their most recent encounters were 17 and 15, three of their prior matches had been decided by a single basket, including an overtime match in Tel Aviv in January 2021. The hosts have won seven of the last nine meetings between them. Due to Maccabi’s recent home performance and Olympiacos’s recent away performance, Tuesday’s game could be another close one.

basketball prediction Tip: Winning Margin 3-way Any Other Result (1-5 points difference) at 2.60

Milano – Efes

A few key factors may determine the outcome of the Round 9 match between EA7 Milan and two-time defending champion Anadolu Efes. Controlling the game’s pace will be one of the major problems.

Milan prefers to play at a slower pace; this season, it has allowed the second-fewest points in the league (73.8 ppg) and scored the fewest points. Efes ranks fifth in points scored (83.9 ppg) and fifth in points allowed. Efes has the second-fewest turnovers (10.6 per game), which is impressive given the faster tempo. Milan has demonstrated exceptional ball handling skills, committing just 11.5 turnovers per game.

basketball prediction Tip: Winning Margin 3-way Any Other Result (1-5 points difference) at 2.60

Valencia – Real Madrid

Here, two well-matched teams collide. At La Fonteta, Valencia (4-4) takes on Real Madrid (5-3). Valencia is eager to get back on track after suffering a humiliating 30-point road loss to Virtus Bologna. Real has started to bring back players and is on a three-game winning streak: Following an injury sustained in the EuroLeague Final Four of the previous season, Williams-Goss made his comeback in Round 8. Valencia has prevailed in its previous three home EuroLeague matches against The Whites.

This season, Valencia has been good with the ball, averaging 17.2 assists and only 12.8 turnovers. In Round 8 versus Virtus, it only committed 8 turnovers, but just 6 of its 36 three-point attempts were successful (16.7% 3FG). Klemen Prepelic, Sam Van Rossom, and Xabi Lopez-Arostegui, Valencia’s top perimeter shooters, must be effective from beyond the arc. Bojan Dubljevic, a centre, will play a crucial part in moving Walter Tavares out of the paint so that his teammates have more room to go for the rim.

Real must take advantage of its size advantage in the paint. Petr Cornelie, Vincent Poirier, Eli Ndiaye, and Tavares all combined for 33 points in the first half of Real’s Round 8 game against ALBA Berlin, making 11 of their 14 two-point attempts. In a crucial battle in this game, Williams-Goss and Adam Hanga have the difficult task of stopping Chris Jones. Sergio Rodriguez recorded his first double-double in nearly three years in Round 8, and Real will have a better chance of winning if he engages everyone once more.

basketball prediction Tip: Over 161.5 at 1.90

Barcelona – Partizan

Barcelona will face Partizan in an effort to avenge a Round 8 setback. Before losing to the two-time defending champion Anadolu Efes, Barcelona (5-3) had won three straight games. On Friday night, Partizan (4-4) overcame a deficit to defeat Maccabi and earn its fourth victory in its previous five games. The last time these two teams played was more than nine years ago. Partizan last defeated Barcelona in February 2010, and Barcelona has won the last five meetings between the two teams.

The outcome could vary depending on a wide range of variables, including shooting outside. As the league’s top offensive team with a 40.9% three-point shooting percentage while allowing opponents to shoot a league-high 40.6% from downtown, Partizan is at the opposing ends of the three-point shooting spectrum. In contrast, Barcelona sits sixth in the league (37.5%) for three-point shooting, led by Nicolas Laprovittola (48.1%), who also leads the league with 3.2 threes made per game. Partizan’s defensive play has limited their opponents to 50.2% two-point shooting and 33.9% three-point shooting.

basketball prediction Tip: Partizan Over 75.5 at 1.83
