Khimki – Villeurbanne

Khimki Moscow Region (3-27) will be looking for a win to please its fans in the team’s final home game of the season. Alexey Shved (19.2 ppg., 7.9 apg.), Jordan Mickey (14.9 ppg., 5.6 rpg.) and Errick McCollum (11.4 ppg.) are its main players right now. LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne (12-18) is on a four-game losing streak and plays its last four showdowns on the road. David Lighty (11.9 ppg.), Norris Cole (13.9 ppg.) and Moustapha Fall (9.1 ppg., 5.7 rpg.) have led the team throughout the season.

Shved is back, so Khimki has even more offensive power for the remainder of the season. Shved leads the league in assists and ranks second in scoring, so Khimki should keep running its offense through him as a difference-maker. Khimki needs to lower down its defensive numbers; its opponents hit 44.3% of their three-point shots against the Russian powerhouse. If Khimki contests more shots and rebounds well under its own rim, offense should come with so many gifted scorers on its roster.

  • Devin Booker has missed the last 10 games.
  • Stefan Jovic has not played in the last nine games.
  • Janis Timma has not played in the last six games.

ASVEL has allowed 86.0 points on average during its current four-game losing streak. It did a bit better in Round 31 against Real Madrid, however, losing 71-74. ASVEL is averaging 14.6 turnovers this season – only ALBA Berlin and FC Barcelona get more – and has a really low assist-to-turnover ratio. ASVEL dishes just 1.12 assist per turnover, so a more efficient offense would make it more competitive. On defense, stopping Shved should be critical, and players like Charles Kahudi and Lighty should be ready for that challenge.

  • Derrick Walton has been sidelined for several weeks with a hip injury.
  • William Howard did not play in Round 31.

Valencia – Olympiacos

Valencia Basket (17-14) is on a three-game winning streak which has allowed the team to keep fighting for a playoff spot. Bojan Dubljevic (10.3 ppg., 5.8 rpg.), Nikola Kalinic (10.2 ppg.) and Sam Van Rossom (7.3 ppg., 3.8 apg.) have been its main references throughout the season. Olympiacos Piraeus (14-17) won three of its last four games, led by Kostas Sloukas (11.5 ppg., 5.9 apg.), Shaquielle McKissic (11.1 ppg.) and Sasha Vezenkov (10.6 ppg., 5.2 rpg.).

Valencia leads the EuroLeague in assists (20.2 ppg.) even when none of its players reaches 4.0 assists on average. Van Rossom is the team’s top assist-maker at 3.8 per night. That unpredictability makes Valencia’s offense even more dangerous. Martin Hermannsson is sidelined, so Van Rossom and Guillem Vives should share the point guard duties and have the tough mission of guarding Sloukas and Vassilis Spanoulis. On offense, getting big men Dubljevic and Mike Tobey involved in pick-and-pop situations will be important, too.

  • Martin Hermannsson missed the Round 31 game.

Olympiacos comes off a home loss against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul in which it had 15 assists and 20 turnovers. That loss stopped a three-game winning streak in which Olympiacos averaged 20.6 assists and just 12.7 turnovers. As such, Olympiacos should try to keep a high level of concentration, running its offense through Sloukas and Spanoulis. On defense, Olympiacos should prevent outside threats Klemen Prepelic and Vanja Marinkovic from finding their rhythm, as no Valencia shooter hits more than 42.0% of his three-point shots.

  • Kostas Papanikolaou has missed Olympiacos’s last 16 games.
  • Hassan Martin is sidelined with a knee injury.

basketball prediction Tip: 1 (-7.5) at 1.90 with bet365
