Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv hosts Khimki Moscow Region on Tuesday in a makeup game from Round 24. Maccabi (13-19) takes the floor after losing another makeup game to LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne less than 48 hours earlier. The Israeli champs have won only three of their last 11 games and are 8-8 at home this season. Khimki (4-28) has not won a game outside of Russia all season.
Maccabi comes off another game where it lost while struggling with its three-point shot. Maccabi has made 39.1% of its triples in the games it’s won this season, compared to 32.2% in defeats. With so many three-point marksmen, led by Scottie Wilbekin, Dorsey and Elijah Bryant, making threes will be crucial for the Israeli champs.
The Khimki lineup has been in flux all season with only one player not missing at least five games. Khimki has a chance to take advantage of a tired Maccabi squad that is missing three players to injury and playing its third game in six days. To do so, it will need greater contributions from role players such as Sergey Karasev, Egor Vialtsev and Anton Ponkrashov, among others, to wear down the Maccabi lineup.
