Anadolu Efes – Fenerbahce

Efes has flexed the strength of a reigning champion by winning three of its past four games. The club set a competition record with 22 three-pointers against Maccabi on Thursday and is second in the league in scoring with 83.1 points per game. Coach Ataman’s team is 11-3 this season when scoring at least 80 points when the game is played at a faster pace. Fenerbahce, on the other hand, is 4-6 when conceding 80 points. When Efes last played, they beat Fenerbahce 84-89, and Larkin, Micic, and the rest of the team will want to maintain the same fast tempo.

Fenerbahce has been gradually reintroducing its injured players, with De Colo and Barthel returning and Vesely on the verge of joining them. Coach Djordjevic’s team has recovered well from its short-handed situation and must now find the appropriate combination to come back to full strength with its stars as soon as possible. Fenerbahce leads the league in assists (18.3 per game) and two-point shooting (58.1 percent), both indicators of its team-oriented style, which is exactly what is required to get back on track.

Crvena Zvezda – Baskonia

Low-scoring contests are nothing new for Zvezda. In fact, the Serbian champions thrive in them; when opponents are held to less than 70 points, Zvezda is 6-3 this season. Baskonia, on the other hand, is 0-11 when it fails to score at least 70 points. Given that Zvezda has scored the second-fewest points in the league (72.4 ppg.) and Baskonia has scored the third-fewest (73.1 ppg. ), a low-scoring game may be in the cards. Zvezda may have the upper hand if it can neutralise Baskonia’s leading scorers, Baldwin (13.5 ppg.) and Giedraitis (11.3 ppg.).

After losing to Maccabi on Tuesday, Baskonia will play its second game in 48 hours. Coach Spahija chose a short rotation in that game; although 11 players saw action, only six played more than 15 minutes. With a total time of more than 72 minutes, Baldwin and Giedraitis did the heavy lifting. They also had 42 points and 12 assists between them. Baskonia’s reserves contributed only 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. In Belgrade, generating more contribution from the bench will be key with the stars exhausted.

basketball prediction Tip: 1 (-4.0) at 1.90 with bet365

Alba Berlin – Zalgiris

ALBA won the rebounding battle by 12 and 11 rebounds in its recent wins over Zenit and Villeurbanne, respectively, and allowed only 11 offensive rebounds. This season, ALBA has outrebounded Zalgiris by 2.2 rebounds per game, while Zalgiris has been outrebounded by 2.2 rebounds per game. Though Joffrey Lauvergne’s return has boosted Zalgiris’ frontline, ALBA – led by Sikma – has the horses to control the glass, and a three-game winning run might be in the cards if it does so again.

Zalgiris has been in excellent form, winning both offensively and defensively. The Lithuanian champions scored 96 points in a make-up encounter in Athens on Tuesday. That followed a strong defensive showing in Round 27 when Zalgiris held Real Madrid to 47 points. Zalgiris has shot better from downtown than its opponents in all three games on its current winning streak, making 21 of 52 attempts from beyond the arc (40.4 percent) in the two road games. Milaknis hit eight threes in a row. Another road victory is possible if Milaknis and his teammates can fire it up from deep within Berlin.

Barcelona – Monaco

Barcelona’s most recent EuroLeague game was an 18-point win over Real Madrid in Madrid, when one of the team’s only issues was stopping Tavares (25 points on 10-of-10 shooting). The presence of Motiejunas, Monaco’s major frontcourt reference, should aid Barcelona’s defence. Against him, Davies and Sanli should see the most action. Barcelona leads the EuroLeague in three-point shooting (40.8 percent) and has held opponents to 31.8 percent three-point shooting, so maintaining those high marks could be crucial.

Monaco is coming off a 92-78 home win over Fenerbahce, in which it only allowed 20 two-point attempts. Fenerbahce had attempted 31 two-point shots this season, which was their lowest total. For the visitors, defending the paint and grabbing defensive rebounds in order to get their transition game going through Mike James and Paris Lee might be crucial. Stopping Mirotic could be crucial, and Monaco trusts Will Thomas to do so because he has proved in the past that his muscular defence can make him feel very uncomfortable.
