Maccabi – Bayern
After experiencing a rare home defeat against Zvezda last time out, Maccabi (12-12) will look to get back into the playoff picture by defeating Bayern (9-15). The German squad has dropped three straight games and can’t afford any more if it wants to make its third consecutive playoff appearance, but it must overcome the injury to key player Augustine Rubit. When the sides met in December, Lorenzo Brown scored 36 points, but it wasn’t enough as Cassius Winston scored 23 points to help Bayern win 98-89.

Milan (8-15) faces Panathinaikos, two teams hoping to make a late charge into the top eight in the standings (8-16). Panathinaikos is on a 3-game losing streak and requires more heroics from Dwayne Bacon, who scored 31 points in the teams’ Round 12 meeting.

Second-place Real (16-7) will seek for a fourth straight win – and a fifth consecutive win at home – when playoff-chasing Zalgiris (13-11) visits. Zalgiris has failed to reach 80 points in six of its last six games and will most likely need to improve that figure to win in the Spanish capital. This should be a physical contest, with Real topping the league in rebounding at 37.9 per game and Zalgiris close behind (34.4). The ability of the visiting team to contain Walter Tavares could be critical.

Partizan – Fenerbahce
Zeljko Obradovic will be overcome with emotion as he hosts former club Fenerbahce (14-9) and former assistant Dimitris Itoudis for a crucial showdown between direct rivals. Partizan has won four straight games and has the chance to gain a head-to-head advantage over Fenerbahce after a thrilling 72-73 victory in Istanbul earlier this season. Partizan point guard Kevin Punter has averaged 18.3 points in the last three games, so stopping him will be critical for the visiting side.
