Anadolu Efes – Baskonia

  • Efes owns a 12-9 lead in their Euroleague games this century.

Anadolu Efes Istanbul will look to return to form after losing its last two games when it hosts Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz on Tuesday. Baskonia (5-9) had lost three straight and seven of eight before exploding last week to trounce LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne 91-66. Rokas Giedraitis and Simone Fontecchio scored 15 points apiece to lead the Baskonia attack. Efes (6-8) had won four in a row before its back-to-back losses and the champs will try to recapture their magic. Efes is 4-3 at home this season and Baskonia is 1-5 on the road. Interestingly, the visiting team has won the last four meetings between these sides.

Fenerbahce – Maccabi

  • Maccabi holds a 14-9 record against Fenerbahce this century.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul has won consecutive games for the first time this season and on Tuesday it will put that winning run on the line against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, while has slumped to four straight defeats. Fenerbahce (5-9) comes off an 80-86 victory at Zenit St Petersburg in which Jan Vesely dominated in setting a career-high in scoring with 32 points. Maccabi (7-7) lost at home on Thursday to UNICS Kazan 74-85 as it committed 17 turnovers – one week after it set its season-high with 18 in Madrid. The Israeli champs are 2-5 on the road this season, but may feel a bit comfortable in Istanbul; five Maccabi players have played for clubs in the Turkish metropolis before, including Derrick Williams and James Nunnally, who both spent time with Fenerbahce.

Crvena Zvezda – Barcelona

  • Barcelona has an 8-2 record in EuroLeague games against Zvezda, having won the last 5.

Two of the best defenses in the league meet when Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade hosts FC Barcelona on Tuesday. Zvezda (6-8) has won back-to-back games and will seek its first three-game winning streak since January 2020, when it reeled off four in a row. However, the opponent is league-leading Barcelona (12-2), which has won six straight games and has averaged 94.7 points in its last three. The stars of these teams are in great form, too. Nikola Kalinic scored a career-high 25 points and tied a career-best with a performance index rating of 27 last week against Olympiacos, while Barca’s Nikola Mirotic tied his career-high with 31 points and set a new personal best in PIR with 39 to win MVP of the Round honors after last week’s triumph over Real Madrid. Barcelona has won its last five games against Zvezda, whose last triumph over the Catalan giants came in October 2017.

Milano – Panathinaikos

  • Panathinaikos is 14-6 against Milan in games this century.

After bounce-back wins in Round 14, AX Milan and Panathinaikos OPAP Athens meet in the fashion capital on Tuesday. Milan (9-5) had lost four in a row before beating AS Monaco 65-71 in the Principality last week behind Sergio Rodriguez and his 13 points off the bench. Panathinaikos (4-10) was routed in Moscow in Round 13, but responded with an 82-67 victory over ALBA Berlin thanks to double-doubles from Daryl Macon Jr. and Georgios Papagiannis. While Milan is 6-1 at home this season, the Greens are winless in eight road games. In fact, the last time Panathinaikos won outside of Greece was in Round 12 last season, when it claimed a 77-80 victory in Milan behind 16 points from Nemanja Nedovic, who played for Milan in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.

Real Madrid – ALBA Berlin

  • Real holds a perfect record (10-0) in EuroLeague against ALBA this century.

Real Madrid will try to get back on track when it hosts ALBA Berlin on Tuesday. Real (11-3) had its six-game winning streak snapped last week when it lost at FC Barcelona in El Clasico. However, Real can be optimistic as Los Blancos are 7-0 at home this season and have 10 in a row in the Spanish capital dating back to last season. Moreover, it has not lost to this week’s opponent in the past two decades. ALBA (5-9) is 0-10 against Real since the turn of the century and winless all-time in seven trips to Madrid. ALBA won back-to-back games in Rounds 12 and 13 against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and AX Armani Exchange Milan, but lost by 15 at Panathinaikos OPAP Athens. The German champs are 2-5 on the road this season.
