Euroleague Tips with Previews – Thursday matches

Real Madrid (8-2) takes on Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade (4-6) in the Spanish capital on Thursday. Real is on a three-game winning streak and is currently led by Walter Tavares (12.4 ppg., 7.6 rpg.), Guerschon Yabusele (13.4 ppg., 4.5 rpg.) and Thomas Heurtel (8.2 ppg., 4.6 apg.). Zvezda comes off a Round 10 loss against Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz. Nikola Kalinic (11.3 ppg.), Nikola Ivanovic (11.3 ppg.) and former Real center Ognjen Kuzmic (7.5 ppg., 6.2 rpg.) are its pillars. Real has a 14-7 record against Zvezda in European competitions. Last season, Zvezda edged Real 77-79 at WiZink Center behind 18 points from Corey Walden. It was Zvezda’s first road win against Real since 1973.

FC Bayern Munich will look to turn Tuesday’s victory into a winning streak when it hosts Panathinaikos OPAP Athens on Thursday in the first game in Round 11. Bayern used a strong fourth quarter to defeat Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul as Vladimir Lucic shined with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Panathinaikos has now lost four straight games, most recently at Zalgiris Kaunas on Tuesday. Daryl Macon Jr. carried the offense for the Greens with 21 points plus 6 rebounds in the loss. Bayern won the last time these teams met, but before that Panathinaikos had bested Bayern in four straight games.
