The action in the Euroleague regular season continues. We have learnt quite a lot of things about this years contestants after a few exciting games and we can predict with more confidence on european basketball matches today. So, let’s dive straight into our Euroleague picks for today’s games:

Fenerbahce – Panathinaikos
At Ulker Sports and Event Hall, Fenerbahce (6-1) will take on Panathinaikos (2-5) with the aim of maintaining its lead in the EuroLeague standings.
Following its first loss of the season in Round 6 at FC Barcelona, Fenerbahce returned to winning ways last week against Crvena Zvezda, with Motley and Mahmutoglu standing out in particular. Given that it added a number of new players to its squad and hired Dimitris Itoudis as its head coach, Fenerbahce has been the team to beat in the EuroLeague this season since it was able to gel quickly. Coach Itoudis from Greece constantly looks forward to playing Panathinaikos because, from 1999 to 2012, he served as Zeljko Obradovic’s assistant coach with the Greens.

Monaco – Baskonia
When Monaco (5-2) hosts Baskonia at Salle Gaston Medecin, fans of the EuroLeague can expect to see fireworks as two of the league’s most explosive offences square off.
With an average of 83.0 points per game, Monaco is currently in fourth place overall. However, in Round 7, despite scoring 84 points against Valencia, it was not enough to win on the road because it surrendered 89 points, snapping its three-game winning streak. Guard Jordan Loyd scored 24 points in the defeat to his former team Valencia, and guard Mike James will be motivated to perform admirably when Baskonia visits Monaco. Monaco’s loss to Valencia cost it the joint-best record in the EuroLeague, so a victory in Round 8 would be crucial for the team to get back on track.

Zalgiris – Milano
Zalgiris Kaunas (4-3) will play host to EA7 Milan (3-4) in a fantastic basketball setting. Zalgiris plays the third straight Turkish Airlines EuroLeague game at Zalgirio Arena with a sold-out crowd. This matchup is even more anticipated because Pangos and Davies, who assisted Zalgiris in reaching the Final Four in 2018, are returning to Kaunas with Milan.
This season, Zalgiris has a perfect home record. Additionally, it has won two straight games after defeating ALBA Berlin and ASVEL Villeurbanne. Zalgiris’ highest scorer this year is Evans (14.4 ppg), who is followed by Brazdeikis (11.6 ppg) and Smits (10.1 ppg) (10.6 ppg.). Zalgiris is tied for the second-most turnovers and ranks second in offensive rebounds (11.9 orpg). (14.9 per game).

Partizan – Maccabi
This matchup between past EuroLeague champions has been eagerly anticipated. For the first time since 2014, Partizan (3-4) plays Maccabi (4-3) in this matchup. Oded Kattash, the head coach of Maccabi, won the EuroLeague in 2000 while playing for Zeljko Obradovic, the Partizan coach at the moment. Lessort and Nunnally, two Partizan players, had previously played for Maccabi.
Having the greatest three-point shooting percentage in the league (40.4%), Partizan has one of the highest scoring totals in the league (83.0 ppg). The leading scorer for Partizan has been Kevin Punter (17.9 ppg), who is followed by LeDay (13.1 ppg) and Lessort (12.7 ppg.). The primary problem with Partizan’s otherwise smooth offence is still turnovers (13.9 per game).
