Euroleague Tips with Previews – Friday matches

Euroleague Basketball Predictions

The action in the Euroleague regular season continues. There have been consistent teams and some in form while a few are struggling to keep with the pace. So, let’s dive straight into our Euroleague picks for today’s games:

Our EuroLeague basketball tips appear under each mini game preview.

Anadolu Efes – Panathinaikos

Friday’s action begins with a bang as defending champion Efes (7-7) looks to get back on track against Panathinaikos (6-8), who is also looking to get back on track following two road losses last week. The nonstop shooting of league leading scorer Dwayne Bacon (20.3 points per game), who could match up directly against another scoring machine, Will Clyburn, will put Efes’ poor defense to the test (19.1 ppg). This encounter between two of the eight teams separated by only one win between seventh and fourteenth position in the standings promises to be a tough affair.

Zalgiris – Bayern

Andrea Trinchieri, coach of Bayern (5-9) takes his new style to face a Zalgiris (7-7) team that has a good home record and lots of confidence after defeating Real Madrid last time out. Bayern’s previous two games saw the most and second-most three-point attempts in club history, with 37 against Real Madrid and 36 against Valencia. However, Keenan Evans, who is joint third in the competition with an average of 2.6 triples per game, provides a powerful long-range threat for Zalgiris.

Milano – Monaco

Milan (4-10) will want to keep moving forward when Monaco visits after finally snapping a protracted losing streak with a victory at Zvezda thanks to Round 14 MVP Brandon Davies (10-4). Elie Okobo’s game-winning buzzer-beater against ALBA on Friday helped The Roca Team move into joint-first place. His backcourt combination with former Milan star Mike James, who won the Top Scorer Trophy while playing in Italy, will pose a serious threat to the home team’s hopes of winning two games in a row.

Valencia – Barcelona

The action for the week comes to an end with a Spanish east coast rivalry as co-leader Barcelona (10-4) visits Valencia (6-8). A star-studded confrontation between two of the league’s most dominant players will be the game’s highlight. In the two games last week, Bojan Dubljevic scored 23 and 28 points while making 18 of his 24 field goal attempts. Meanwhile, Nikola Mirotic, a star for Barça, has solidified his title as the current EuroLeague MVP after averaging 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 21.5 PIR in his four games since making a comeback from injury.
