In their last five games, the Lithuanian champions have won four. Zalgiris has stung the top two clubs in the standings, Barcelona and Real Madrid, in their previous two games in Kaunas, using various strategies. The Zalgiris defence kept Real Madrid to 47 points, but the offence exploded with 91 points versus Barcelona. This season, Olympiacos is 4-7 when allowing opponents to score 80 points, while Zalgiris is 4-2 when it reaches that mark. This time, a high-scoring game would undoubtedly help Zalgiris.
Last week, the Reds’ lost to ALBA in Berlin, and they’ll want to turn it around in Kaunas. Olympiacos has excelled in the paint this season, ranking second in the league in two-point accuracy (56.6%), spearheaded by the trio of Vezenkov (66.1%), Fall (65.9%), and Martin (65.9%). Two of Zalgiris’ last three opponents have made at least 60% of their two-pointers, and if Olympiacos can keep that trend going by hammering the ball inside, it will be a major advantage for the visitors.
