Euroleague Basketball Predictions

There are numerous meetings amongst direct competitors in the race for the playoffs in the penultimate round of Euroleague games before the mid-season break. The menu and our predictions for Round 26 are provided below. Let’s dive straight into our Euroleague picks for today’s games. Here’s a rundown of what’s coming up.

Yes, these are the best Euroleague basketball tips you can possibly find and appear under each mini game preview.

Efes – Maccabi

Tomislav Mijatovic, the new coach of Efes (10–15), will want to begin his tenure with a victory over Maccabi (13–12), who are currently in 10th place. The Turkish squad, once again led by Shane Larkin with 19 points, will look to build on their victory over Milan last week. Maccabi has suffered, particularly defensively, in their last five away losses, conceding at least 88 points. After losing 95-86 against Maccabi in December, Efes will aim for a victory of ten points or more. Bonzie Colson put on one of his many outstanding games, combining for 19 points and 7 rebounds. Lorenzo Brown scored 21 points in that game as well. His backcourt duel with Wade Baldwin, Larkin, and Darius Thompson is worth the price of admission on its own.

Baskonia – Asvel Villeurbanne

When lowly ASVEL (5-20) visits ninth-placed Baskonia (13-12), it will try to maintain its spot in the playoff zone. Earlier this season, Baskonia defeated ASVEL’s sharpshooter Mike Scott by an impressive 81-88 in France, led by their typical leaders, Markus Howard, who scored a career-high 35 points, and Chima Moneke, who finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Due to their recent inconsistency, Baskonia will see this as a must-win matchup against a visiting squad that has the poorest three-point shooting percentage (33.0%) in the league.

Partizan – Bayern

Bayern (10–15) will pay Partizan (13–12) a visit in hopes of bringing home comforts following two road losses last week. After scoring 28 and 22 points in Bayern’s losses to Monaco and Bologna last week, Kevin Punter will try to continue his incredible play. Meanwhile, Sylvain Francisco of Bayern is playing well, having scored in double figures in six straight games. Along with 21 points from backcourt partner Carsen Edwards, he also scored 17 points in Bayern’s 94-85 victory over Partizan in November. Bayern needs to play similarly well on defence in order to secure a crucial victory on Thursday. The team won its most recent road game, 65-82 at ALBA.

Valencia – Olympiacos

In an important match, Valencia (13–12) welcomes Olympiacos (14–11) pitting eighth against seventh. With three straight victories, the Spanish squad has proven its superior defensive capabilities by limiting opponents to 66, 62, and 72 points. Two months earlier, Valencia won 56-63 in Piraeus thanks to a similar performance. The Reds will be hoping that Thomas Walkup can lead the offence with the same efficiency that saw him score 16 points and dish out eight assists in the team’s triumph against Bayern last week. In addition, he must slow down Chris Jones, the playmaker for Valencia, who scored 14 points and dishevelled eight assists to lead his team to victory at ALBA the previous game.

Winning Margin 3-way 1-5 points at 2.70

Milano – Real Madrid

Real Madrid (22-3) the reigning champions will try to beat Milan (10-15), a squad that is anxious to get into the top 10, in order to secure playoff qualifying. In what looks to be a brutal head-to-head match, the fit-again Nikola Mirotic will attempt to get revenge on his former team against Guerschon Yabusele. When the teams met in Round 4, Real easily won, 88-71, on 19 points from five three-pointers made by Sergio Llull. The only side in the competition with a perfect home record is Real Madrid, while the Italian team has fallen down the rankings after winning just one of its previous five games and dropping four straight away from home.
