Zalgiris – Monaco
Zalgiris (5-7) and Monaco (7-5) meet in Kaunas to try to win the double-round week. Dovydas Giedraitis’ 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists were the only bright spots in Lithuania’s season-low 62 points loss against ALBA on Tuesday. Monaco lost to Partizan in an overtime thriller despite 23 points from Donatas Motiejunas on 9-of-11 field goal shooting. Now they must find energy to face the always-electric Zalgirio Arena environment. Monaco has the lowest turnover rate in the league at 10.3 per game and will want to maintain that against a hungry host.

Bayern (6-6) will use their three-game winning streak to face hosts Olympiacos (6-6), seeking to bounce back from consecutive losses. Serge Ibaka, who scored 20 points in the thrilling overtime win against Milan, including a buzzer-beating triple to force OT, will be crucial in this matchup of two of the seven clubs tied for seventh position coming into Round 13. Bayern, which has never won in Piraeus, will also hope Carsen Edwards continues his scoring streak after his 32-point performance Tuesday. Olympiacos needs more backcourt support for Thomas Walkup, the lone player to score 17 points in Tuesday’s loss to Real.

Barca (9-3) defends its spotless home record against unreliable Fenerbahce (6-6), two of Wednesday’s tight losers want to respond quickly. The Turkish squad had lost five straight on the road, but in Round 12, they came close to winning at Baskonia with 22 of 38 two-pointers, including 4 of 5 by Johnathan Motley. That kind of efficiency will be crucial against a Barca club led by Willy Hernangomez and Jan Vesely, who scored 15 and 13 in Wednesday’s loss at Virtus. Another Fenerbahce point guard facing his old squad is Nick Calathes, who may prevail in his backcourt fight with Tomas Satoransky.

Lorenzo Brown (16 points, 4 assists) and Wade Baldwin (21 points, 8 assists) led a dramatic Round 12 triumph at ASVEL. Bonzie Colson added 15 points to his hot streak. Maccabi boasts the league’s third-best offence (85.5 ppg.), but Virtus, who has won six straight at home, is close behind (82.8), so this could be a thriller.

ASVEL (2-10) will try to halt its losing skid against Valencia (6-6) after another close loss two days ago. Despite Joffrey Lauvergne’s 23 points and 9 rebounds in Wednesday’s 91-94 home loss to Maccabi, the French team has lost four straight games by 5 points. Gianmarco Pozzecco hopes former Valencia star Nando De Colo (13.8 ppg.) can halt that streak and lift ASVEL from the bottom of the standings. Chris Jones (11.5 ppg., 4.6 apg.), an ex-ASVEL guard, will lead the visiting team, which defeated Zvezda on Wednesday.
