Euroleague Basketball Predictions

We’re right in the play-offs of the Euroleague and the home advantage is already lost in 3/4 cases. Will it be regained by Panathinaikos on Tuesday? The game against in-form Maccabi is a classic, while in Madrid, Real wants to go 2-0 versus Baskonia. Let’s dive straight into our Euroleague picks for today’s games.

Yes, these are the best Euroleague basketball tips you can possibly find and appear under each mini game preview.

Panathinaikos – Maccabi

  • Maccabi is winning 1-0 in the series
  • Juancho Hernangomez of Panathinaikos was admitted to the hospital due to a serious sinus infection and a spasm in his calm. Game 2 is not anticipated to see him play.
  • Wade Baldwin of Maccabi is out of the second game with a hamstring issue.

As the favourite going into Game 1 of the series against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Panathinaikos took the court in the first three quarters in OAKA. But certain elements, like Kendrick Nunn’s fouls or the Greens’ subpar defensive effort, helped Maccabi win 91-87 and take advantage in this series of all-time rivals of the playoffs. Panathinaikos has a 14-4 record this season, and Ergin Ataman wants his team to take advantage of their home floor while also reacting to Tuesday’s defeat.

Although Maccabi Tel Aviv was consistently losing in the first 35 minutes of Game 1 against Panathinaikos, they eventually turned things around and won. Keep in mind that they do not play at home (they play in neutral Belgrade without a crowd), so this victory may not mean much. Especially if coach Catash is forced to play without the injured Baldwin (guard), who had a strain in Game 1 and is out from Game 2.

It feels like Panathinaikos will go to Belgrade with 1-1 labelled next to this pair. Maccabi have done some of the job and if they find themselves chasing again, maybe they will try to preserve some energy for the next encounters.

Real Madrid – Baskonia

  • Real Madrid is winning 1-0 in the series
  • Chima Moneke of Baskonia is out because of an ankle injury.

Real didn’t have to press the gas pedal in Game 1 because of their superb defence, which allowed them to easily overcome the hurdle of Baskonia (90-74).

The Basques are suffering significantly without the injured Moneke, who will undoubtedly miss Game 2 and maybe more of this series. As it stands, Baskonia is not very trustworthy on the road (8-11 so far), and while scoring 84.1 ppg, they are averaging 85.5 and appear to struggle with games of such importance.

Logic suggests that Real Madrid will win 2-0, but in matches involving teams from the same country, it is best to avoid odds close to nothing for anyone’s win. We’ll go with the Over in points because, even with the Basque side not on top of their form, the score reached 164 points in Game 1. We strongly expect Baskonia to do better this time, thus we believe the winner will be determined at the range of 170 or more points.
