Euroleague Basketball Predictions

The action in the Euroleague regular season continues. We have learnt quite a few things on the teams after a few exciting games and we can predict with more confidence on today’s matches. So, let’s dive straight into our Euroleague picks for today’s games:

Our EuroLeague basketball tips appear under each mini game preview.

Baskonia – Maccabi

In the opening match of Round 6 on Thursday, Wade Baldwin will lead Maccabi into Spain to take on his old team Baskonia. Despite having three straight victories, Maccabi (4-1) hasn’t had a road victory this year. After opening the season 3-0, Baskonia (2-3) has since lost back-to-back games while dealing with injuries and the return to the squad of guard Pierria Henry, who just joined the team last week.

The backcourts on both sides are strong and dangerous, with Baskonia relying on Henry, Howard, and Thompson to perform well. As its go-to guards, Maccabi will counter with Baldwin (15.2 ppg, 4.6 apg) and Brown (15.6 ppg, 7.8 apg).

basketball prediction Tip: Over 164.5 at 1.90

Bayern – Efes

Although Bayern Munich (0-5) has yet to win in the EuroLeague, they will be hoping to get things going when defending champion Anadolu Efes (2-3) visits Audi Dome on Thursday night.

Bayern is back at home for the fourth time this season after suffering a road loss at Crvena Zvezda. Bayern has already lost at home to Fenerbahce, Barcelona, and Milan, and the arrival of Efes will present another difficult challenge. However, with Winston’s recent success for Bayern, head coach Andrea Trinchieri will be looking for more of the same from the rookie guard as well as improved play from some of the team’s more seasoned players.

basketball prediction Tip: 1 (+4.5) at 1.90

Milano – Real Madrid

There are usually fireworks when Milan (3-2) and Real Madrid (2-3) square off in the EuroLeague. The two teams hope to advance to the Final Four, where anything can happen, so this year is probably no different.

Milan missed out on making the 2022 Final Four, thus this Round 6 match provides them the chance to make a statement against one of Europe’s greatest lineups. Milan will need to put up a more consistent performance if it is to defeat Real after suffering a humiliating 74-56 road loss at Barcelona last time out. Milan started the game well before fading in the second and third quarters. More players will need to step up on Thursday night because Davies was the only Milan player to score more than ten goals in Round 5.

basketball prediction Tip: 1 at 2.05

Panathinaikos – Partizan

For the first time in 12 years, Panathinakos will host Partizan, and both teams are hoping to take a turn in their route as neither Panathinaikos nor Partizan have ever won at home or on the road respectively this season.

Coach Obradovic, a nine-time EuroLeague champion, spent 13 seasons with Panathinaikos where he solidified his reputation as a legendary coach. He guided the Greens to 5 EuroLeague titles, 11 Greek Leagues, and seven Greek Cups over that span. At the same time, ex Green captain, team leader, and fan favorite for the last four seasons, Papapetrou, is back in Athens.

The top-scoring offense in the EuroLeague will be playing Panathinaikos. Averaging 86.4 points each game, Partizan is over 14 points better than the Greens were in the first five rounds. Panathinaikos will want to control the tempo and keep the score low rather than participate in a run-and-gun battle with the visitors.

basketball prediction Tip: Partizan Over 78.5 at 1.90
