ALBA BERLIN – PANATHINAIKOS

ALBA Berlin (1-5) hosts Panathinaikos (2-4), two clubs in the bottom half of the standings looking for a lift. Juancho Hernangomez, who has a season average of 4.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, is sidelined, sp Panathinaikos has a massive problem at the position of the forward. Guards Kostas Sloukas and Luca Vildoza, who missed the trip to Barcelona, should be back for the Green. After suffering a hard-fought defeat against Valencia, where Matt Thomas (16 points) recorded his third consecutive game with at least ten points, and Sterling Brown (19 points) extended his impressive run, ALBA has to improve their ball handling after being undone by 18 mistakes in that contest.

BARCELONA – CRVENA ZVEZDA

With Zvezda (2-4), who broke a four-game losing run and won their first game under new coach Giannis Sfairopoulos, visiting Barcelona (5-1) will want to continue its perfect home record. Against a Zvezda squad that leads all clubs in offensive rebounds (14.3 per game), Barca, who has the strongest defence in the league, will try to control the boards. Since 2017, the Spanish team has defeated Zvezda nine times in a row. They will be counting on Tomas Satoransky’s defensive prowess to contain Milos Teodosic’s amazing creativity, as he has made at least one three-pointer in each of the team’s games thus far and recorded a double-double of 16 points and 11 assists in last week’s victory over Bayern.

MONACO – ASVEL

In a French League game, ASVEL (1-5) will want to gain further momentum following its season-opening victory over high-flying host Monaco (4-2). Round 6 in Milan saw Monaco win for the fourth time in a row, led by Mike James. James will face Nando De Colo, who scored 13 points and dished out six assists in the victory against Zalgiris last week, in a match that features two of the four players who have scored 4,000 points in the championship. In other news, watch for an all-action matchup between visiting Charles Kahudi, who doesn’t put up spectacular stats but always inspires his side with hustle, and Monaco’s Alpha Diallo (10.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.5 spg).
