Euroleague Basketball Predictions

The Euroleague continues this week and the battle for the playoffs heating up. So, let’s dive straight into our Euroleague picks for today’s games. Here’s a rundown of what’s coming up.

Yes, these are the best Euro League basketball tips you can possible find and appear under each mini game preview.

Crvena Zvezda – Alba Berlin

Zvezda (11-13) will look to improve its playoff chances against an ALBA (6-18) team that has lost six in a row and could soon become the first team officially eliminated from playoff contention. ALBA has given up at least 84 points in each of its six losses, and more than 93 in the last four, so Zvezda backcourt captain Luca Vildoza will be confident of providing the offensive fluency needed to secure a home victory in Belgrade.

Asvel Villeurbanne – Efes

Inconsistent reigning champion Efes (11-12) will attempt to improve its playoff chances by defeating ASVEL (8-16), which is running out of time to finish in the top eight after losing its last three games. Efes has only won once in its last six road trips, but it has a dominant 8-1 record against ASVEL in their meetings this century, including a 78-72 home victory last month behind 22 points from Vasilije Micic.

Valencia – Olympiacos

A thrilling clash is expected at La Fonteta as ravenous Valencia (13-11) hosts league leaders Olympiacos (17-7). Valencia has won six of its last seven games, including last time out on a thrilling game-winning goal by Chris Jones at Panathinaikos. Jones also tallied the game-winning points from the foul line when Valencia won in Piraeus in November, so the hosts have nothing to fear as they look to end the Reds’ six-game winning streak.

Virtus Bologna – Baskonia

Virtus (11-13) invites Baskonia (11-13) to Italy for a meeting of two playoff contenders (13-11). The Spanish team has the most potent offence in the league, averaging 85.4 points per game, but Virtus has an excellent perimeter defence, allowing opponents to score only 33.2% of their three-point attempts (second best in the league). Baskonia’s Markus Howard, who leads the league with 3.0 triples per game, may find it more difficult to score than normal.

Barcelona – Monaco

The round concludes with a titanic fight for a top-four finish between third-placed Barcelona (16-8) and fourth-placed Monaco (16-8) (15-9). When the teams last met in December, Barcelona won a low-scoring contest, 63-69, thanks to Nikola Mirotic’s 15 points and 9 rebounds. Monaco will undoubtedly hope to make this a more open game in order to unleash Mike James’ scoring potential, who has scored in double figures in seven straight games but will be eager to better his season-long three-point shooting conversion rate of 28.6%.
