Monaco – Baskonia

Monaco has increased its shooting percentages to rank second from downtown (37.7% 3FG) and seventh inside the arc in the 2021-22 EuroLeague, averaging 84.1 points per game (54.1 percent 2FG). Monaco has improved even more in its last four games, averaging 92.3 points per game. Because many of Mike James, Dwyane Bacon, and Alpha Diallo’s points come in transition or isolation plays, head coach Sasa Obradovic’s squad ranks 14th in assists (15.6 apg.). The ability to run the court and find one-on-one opportunities, as well as preventing Baskonia’s Wade Baldwin from controlling the game’s tempo, will be crucial.

Baskonia is on a four-game winning streak, with defence playing a major role. Normally, Baskonia allows 78.8 points per game, but during this streak, that number dropped to only 68.3, more than ten points below its season average. In all four victories, Baskonia outrebounded its opponents, with Matt Costello and Steven Enoch dominating the boards. Against Monaco centre Donatas Motiejunas, their contribution will be crucial. Baskonia’s last four opponents were restricted to a 31 of 95 (32.6 percent) three-point shooting percentage. Because James, Bacon, and Paris Lee can easily draw the trigger from downtown, perimeter defence will be crucial.

Alba Berlin – Crvena Zvezda

ALBA is coming off a home loss to FC Barcelona, in which the visitors made 14 of 23 three-point attempts (60.9 percent ). Barcelona also had a 28-40 rebounding advantage over ALBA. ALBA gives up 35.1 rebounds in losses and only 30.6 in wins. As a result, boxing out should be crucial for ALBA to get its transition offence going while avoiding second-chance points for Zvezda. ALBA has the most turnovers (13.8 per game) in the 2021-22 EuroLeague and has to improve game flow to be more efficient offensively. Branko Lazic, Nate Wolters, and Stefan Markovic are all more experienced playmakers, so Maodo Lo and Tamir Blatt should be aware of this and find answers on defence.

With an average of 74.2 points per night, Zvezda boasts one of the best defences in the EuroLeague. Zvezda, on the other hand, could do a better job of defending its paint, where opponents hit 55.3 percent of their two-point attempts. That will be critical against ALBA, whose centres Ben Lammers and Christ Koumadje are both capable inside scorers. Due to their experience, Luka Mitrovic and Ognjen Kuzmic will try to step up on defence and hunt for opportunities on offensive. Due to their versatility, Nikola Kalinic and Dejan Davidovac should provide head coach Dejan Radonjic with plenty of offensive advantages, which Zvezda should take advantage of.

Villeurbanne – Olympiacos

ASVEL is coming off a road win over Zalgiris Kaunas, in which its size and physicality were the deciding factors. Victor Wembanyama (2.20 metres), who spent a lot of playing time alongside Youssoupha Fall (2.21) in one of the tallest frontcourt duos in competitive history, led ASVEL with 5 blocks. ASVEL made 60% of their three-point attempts and will almost certainly continue to rely on Chris Jones and Elie Okobo, who combined for 37 of the team’s 72 points against Zalgiris. However, ASVEL had 20 turnovers in that game and should be able to cut that total in half against Olympiacos.

Olympiacos will play one of the toughest teams to match up against in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague in ASVEL, but Moustapha Fall is expected to make the difference in the paint against his former side. Fall has averaged 15.5 points on 87.5 percent two-point shooting and a PIR of 27.0 in his last two games. His clashes with Youssoupha Fall and Wembanyama will be crucial. Olympiacos are currently ranked second in the league in two-point shooting percentage (57.3 percent ). The Reds have a poor turnover rate (11.6 per game) and rely on Thomas Walkup and Kostas Sloukas to control the speed of the game, denying Okobo and Jones easy points in transition.

basketball prediction Tip: 1 (+5.5) at 1.90 with bet365

Barcelona – Fenerbahce

In a Round 31 triumph against ALBA Berlin, Barcelona put on a shooting clinic, making 14 of 23 three-pointers (60.9 percent). With a 41.4 percent three-point shooting accuracy, Barca leads the league; no other team shoots better than 38.0 percent. Alex Abrines has found his scoring rhythm for Barca, making them even more dangerous from beyond the arc. Against ALBA, Abrines, Kyle Kuric, and Nico Laprovittola combined for 8 of 10 three-pointers. This provides more one-on-one opportunities for the rest of the team, and especially Nikola Mirotic. Barca’s finest shooters are extremely difficult to stop once they get their stride.

In this game, Fenerbahce will rely on its big men to make the difference. Jan Vesely sank all seven of his two-point attempts on route to 15 points and a PIR of 23 in Round 31, his first game back from injury in 2022. Fenerbahce has lots of advantages in the paint thanks to Vesely, Devin Booker, and Jehyve Floyd. They help their team lead the EuroLeague in two-point shooting efficiency by playing above the rim (57.4 percent ). Apart from preventing Barcelona’s best shooters from obtaining open looks, Fenerbahce looks on Pierria Henry to put defensive pressure on Nick Calathes and prevent him from controlling the game’s rhythm.
