Monaco – Bayern Munich

When Monaco (6-3) hosts Bayern Munich (3-6) for Round 10, two teams with different fortunes earlier in the week will clash. Monaco has a spotless 2-0 record versus Bayern so far in their EuroLeague meetings. In Round 9, Fenerbahce defeated Monaco 93-96 despite a significant comeback in the fourth quarter. Monaco’s top scorer and rebounder was Jordan Loyd (18 points). On the other hand, Bayern defeated ASVEL, 74-75, for its third victory of the year, powered by 13 points from Lucic.

Monaco, which had an erratic start to the season, has recently had some ups and downs and will attempt to prevent a double-round home sweep against Bayern. The stats suggest that Monaco takes care of the ball better than any other club, as they lead the league in steals per game (8.8) and lowest turnovers (9.8). Since Bayern performs better from the free-throw line and also knows how to preserve their glass, the hosts will want to prevent a close game. The hosts are performing well overall and boast one of the league’s most lethal backcourts with Loyd, Mike James, and Okobo. They must keep an eye out for Winston and Weiler-Babb in particular.

Barcelona – Baskonia

At Palau Blaugrana, Barcelona (6-3) will welcome Baskonia (5-4) in a rematch of two familiar teams. Laprovittola (15.2 ppg), Sanli (8.9 ppg), and Satoransky, three former Baskonia guards, helped Barca win four of its most recent five games (7.8 ppg.). Following a 20-point victory over Zalgiris at home, Baskonia hopes to maintain its momentum. The leading scorer for Baskonia has been Howard (15.6 ppg), who is followed by Thompson (12.6 ppg) and Kotsar (11.8 ppg.).

Barca averages just 14.6 free throw attempts each game, which is not a lot. Barca has also connected on 36.9% of its downtown shots. Now that Kuric, a talented three-point shooter, is back with the squad, that percentage ought to increase. Kuric provides Barca with yet another tool to deploy against Marinkovic and Giedraitis in the backcourt. To balance its offence, Barca has to locate Tobey and Vesely inside. Vesely and Sanli must be active on defence against Costello, a large player with limitless mobility who has just improved his physical condition.

basketball prediction Tip: Over 161.5 at 1.90

Virtus Bologna – Anadolu Efes

In a sold-out arena, Virtus Bologna (4-5) will welcome the two-time defending champions Anadolu Efes (4-5) in an effort to defend its home court. The champions of the previous season’s EuroCup and EuroLeague square off, with Virtus and Efes meeting for the first time in a competitive match in more than 20 years.

Regarding the outcomes of their earlier games this week, the two sides enter this match in diametrically opposed moods. After suffering a heartbreaking 88-85 overtime loss to Panathinaikos on Wednesday, Virtus returns home. Early in the game, Virtus had a substantial lead and needed to come back to force OT. Prior to losing, it led for the majority of the extra session again. Last year’s EuroCup MVP Jaiteh shone with a career-high 20 points and 10 rebounds.

basketball prediction Tip: 1 (+2.5) at 1.90

Valencia – Zalgiris

When Zalgiris Kaunas (5-4) visits Valencia (4-5), both clubs will be looking to complete this double-round with at least one victory. This is the tenth meeting between these two clubs in the EuroLeague, with Valencia holding a 6-3 advantage overall. Despite Van Rossom’s 17 points and 3 assists on Tuesday, Valencia lost to Real Madrid 73-80 at home. Despite Ulanovas scoring 18 points, Zalgiris lost to Baskonia by a score of 93-73 on Wednesday.

In most statistics, both teams’ numbers appear to be very close on paper. For instance, Valencia scores 0.3 more points per game than the next team. The average PIR difference is also in Zalgiris’ favour. In terms of shooting accuracy across the board, Zalgiris outperforms Valencia, while Valencia does better in terms of assists, steals, and turnovers. One of these two teams will be able to successfully complete the double-round week on Friday night, so it appears that everything will come down to the little things.
