Atletico v Bayern preview and tips

Atletico have knocked out Barcelona in the quarter-finals and are now targeting their second final in 3 years. Simeone’s men kept 14 clean sheets in their last 19 Champions League games. They hold 2nd place in the Primera Division having the same points with leaders Barcelona. They were 9 behind just a month ago. The Champions League is an equal target and Atletico wants to go all the way.

Simeone spoke with war terminology in the Press conference and looked confident in his players beating Bayern.

Fernando Torres is back from suspension, but defender Godin is joining Tiago on the sideline. Carrasco is a major doubt in a match that his speed could be crucial.

Possible lineup
Atlético: Oblak; Juanfran, Giménez, Savić, Filipe Luís; Gabi, Koke, Saúl, Augusto Fernández; Griezmann, Fernando Torres.
Out: Tiago (broken leg), Godín (hamstring)
Doubtful: Carrasco (ankle)

Bayern managed a thrilling qualification against Juventus, but it was simpler against Benfica.

Guardiola said he is relaxed ahead of the ‘last chance to win the trophy with Bayern’.

The Bavarians have come through the serious problem in central defense with Boateng, Badstuber injured and Benatia on and off. Left full-back Alaba and central midfielders Martinez and Kimmich have covered surprisingly well the center of defence. But there have been more shots from the opponents and more goals.

Robben is sidelined along Badstuber and Boateng lacks match fitness and should not feature for the visitors.

Possible lineup
Bayern: Neuer; Lahm, Martínez, Alaba, Bernat; Alonso, Vidal; Costa, Ribéry; Müller, Lewandowski.
Out: Robben (groin), Badstuber (ankle)
Doubtful: Boateng (match fitness), Rode (illness)

Our bet: Atletico deserves major respect but Bayern might prove too strong to beat tonight. Considering that Simeone will go for the clean sheet, a 0-0 is possible (as is 1-1) and the draw seems to have value.
