Liverpool host Arsenal in a game that rarely disappoints. Liverpool’s injury list is not only worrying but actually threatening Jurgen Klopp, whose training methods were questioned during the past couple of weeks. The Reds had to play with reserves at Exeter where they only secured a repeat cup game at home (2-2) equalising towards the end of the game. Milner, Ibe and Henderson could all be back in Klopp’s squad after coming back from different injuries. However, Skrtel, Lovren, Coutinho, Origi and Daniel Sturridge are all ruled out with hamstring problems. Gomez and Ings are long-term absentees with knee problems. Lucas Leiva might be used as centre-back if Toure or Sakho fail to pass their fitness tests. Steven Caulker is also available for the hosts after completing on time his loan move from QPR.

Arsenal will try to stay top and at least keep the 3 points difference from Man City if the Citizens win against Everton. Wenger’s side won two matches in the Premiere League and one in the FA Cup after they got destroyed in Southampton (4-0). They also have important players sidelined. Tomas Rosicky is back in training but will miss out and Wenger insists the game comes too soon for Sanchez (hamstring). Ospina (groin) could be absent and Wilshere (leg), Coquelin, Welbeck and Cazorla (all knee) are definitely out. Wenger welcomes back the in-form Ozil and Mertesacker after both were rested for Saturday’s FA Cup victory over Sunderland (3-1).

In the last 9 matches between these two teams in Anfield, there were 35 goals scored, on average 3.9 per game. So we are surprised to find the Over 2.5 goals at evens (2.00).
