Barcelona – Maccabi
Barcelona (21-6) takes on Maccabi (15-11). While Barcelona has already secured first place, Maccabi is battling for fifth.
Barcelona leads the league in three-point shooting percentage, making 41.3 percent of its attempts from beyond the arc, and this should be its most potent weapon in this match. With their shoots from beyond the arc, Abrines and Kuric can seize control of any game. Sanli will be paired with another superb three-point shooter in Mirotic in the absence of Brandon Davies. Barcelona’s key defensive aim should be to stop Zizic and Reynolds in the paint, as well as to match its opponent’s physicality on both ends of the court.
It’s never easy to control the tempo of a game against Barcelona at Palau Blaugrana, but it’s crucial for the Israeli champions to strive for an important victory. In front of their home fans, ASVEL Villeurbanne (8-19) wraps up their participation in the 2021-22 EuroLeague. It is up against Milan (18-9), which is vying for third place.
This is the final chance for EuroLeague fans to watch Wembanyama, Antetokounmpo, and Youssoupha Fall’s young, athletic frontcourt. ASVEL has to take advantage of its size advantage in the paint, as well as improve its offensive glass play, which currently ranks 17th in the league at 8.7 per night. It’s also crucial for the team to run its offense through Jones and Okobo, since both of them can find advantages in one-on-one scenarios against Rodriguez and Delaney.
